Beach life is nothing new in San Diego and with a cool breeze in the air; waves at La Jolla Shores are calmer during the summer months than most San Diego beaches. The beach is approximately 1 mile and runs along the shoreline of La Jolla. San Diego has many beaches but what makes La Jolla Shores so unique is you can actually walk out onto large boulders that extend out into the ocean. The crashing waves up close are incredible as you can feel the ocean’s spray with every landing. Stairs can be found throughout the area for easy access along with ramps for those with disabilities. For sand digging fun this beach offers volleyball nets and a quick place to shower off all that sand.

Further down you’ll discover La Jolla’s Children’s Pool, it’s a small cove that was designed for children to swim in. A large wall was built to keep the ocean waves from coming into the area. It’s now home to many seals that have taken over beach in that section of La Jolla Shores keeping visitors out of area. The seals are government protected but a narrow walkway above the wall wraps around the cove making it a viewing spot of the mammals.

Many visitors’ head over to La Jolla Shores for all the activities, events that take place here it’s also right across the street of many residences who enjoy all of what the beach has to offer. Amenities such as fire pits, picnic seating, surfing, scuba diving and boating can be found in each area. Don’t worry there are lifeguards are on staff for swimmers, decent parking and different playgrounds for the kids. Come spend a day in San Diego and please keep our beaches clean.

Looking for something new to do with the family then go check out LEGOLAND California Resort, it’s located about 35 miles from San Diego; the theme park is filled with displays completely made from Lego’s. Children and adults everywhere travel far and wide to see these amazing structures. The resort features shows, 60 rides and fun attractions.

Today June 13, 2013 the world’s largest life size structure was presented in the Carlsbad, Ca LEGOLAND. The Star Wars X-wing Starfighter took over 17,336 hours to construct making it 45,000 lbs and towers at least 11 feet high and 43 feet in length. This model came from NY Times Square on six freight vehicles and took master modelers about five days to reassemble for the big reveal. The massive structure in LEGOLAND California will only be here for a short amount of time; this summer is the perfect time to go check out.

Of course this isn’t the only thing to see there, hop 60 fun filled rides all made from Lego’s. For the ultimate movie experience catch the exiting 4D LEGO Legends of Chima or LEGO Clutch Powers 4D. You’ll also get a chance to meet all the characters many you’ve seen in LEGO kits, they walk around and greet visitors and live it up at during the character dance party.

The theme park offers many places to pickup a quick bit to eat like burgers, pizza, ice cream, popcorn and more. Looking for the full dining experience? Then have a seat and enjoy Ristorante Brickolini, Pizza Mania and Garden Restaurant. With kid friendly choices you won’t have a problem keeping the little ones happy.

The coolest part of LEGOLAND is all of the massive displays made from the simple plastic pieces of Lego’s. They really are quite a sight to see but if you really want keep the adventure going, stay at the fun loving LEGOLAND hotel where you can be a pirate for a day in one of their themed out rooms. This is defiantly a family vacation destination, or for anyone who loves the classic Lego’s toys.

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

The historic landmark of Old Town San Diego is where it all began. Old Town is truly a must see if you want to learn more about San Diego, Ca and it’s history. You’ll find live music, museums to wander through not to mention loads of shops and restaurants. Nothing beats sipping on a traditional margarita to cool things down. This is a destination stop for those new to San Diego, many people will bring their friends and family here to experience the authentic vibe Old Town has to offer.

There’s also a serene courtyard located inside the main plaza featuring beautiful dancers performing away while the mariachis entertain outdoor guests. Be prepared for the vast amount of shops that surround the entire park offering old world charm and many pieces that were made in the earlier days. Pottery, clothing, paintings and more reflect the heart of San Diego, Ca.

Old Town is really a great place to meet up for happy hour; many of the local restaurants have specials making entrées, drinks and appetizers a lot cheaper especially on taco Tuesday’s. For a real spooky time check out The Whaley House, it said to be haunted and charge admission for those who want to take a closer look. Take a step back into time and enjoy your stay at the hotel called The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant.

My absolute favorite part of Old Town is all the shopping you can do; Old Town is filled with exiting gift shops, specialty boutiques and general stores. Many of the owners of these fine establishments dress for the time period to show visitors San Diego’s culture. Everything is completely within walking distances making it super easy to visit all the local businesses.

In between restaurants and shops you’ll discover museums that pay tribute to events that took place so long ago. There’s even a Wells Fargo display featuring an original stagecoach that was used years ago to transfer money from one county to the next. You’ll also find a variety of local vendors who gather along the street side, to showcase all of their handmade items just waiting for visitors to buy.

Besides all of the great food, shops and galleries take a load off in the many grassy areas dedicated for those who just want to relax. Enjoy the many areas of the historic park with plenty of seating lush greenery and smooth paths that wrap around the entire park. Take a few photos of the blooming flowers that can be seen along the walkways strictly for your enjoyment.

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is a wonderful preservation of an early time in our history. To get a real flavor of what San Diego’s all about go check it out and enjoy all the attractions, food and shops. Visit San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Open View San Diego Zoo Safari Park

If your really looking for an adventure then you’ve got to check out San Diego Zoo Safari Park, formally Wild Animal Park. The park is located in the back end of Escondido and sits on 1,800 acres in the heart of San Pasqual Valley. The terrain was designed to accommodate thousands of animals from lions, elephants, rhinos, gazelles, mountain goats and more. 


The theme is Safari making it a great stop for who’ve always wanted to go for a real safari ride. Tours are offered to get up close and personal with the animals as they ride through in a large open vehicle just like you would see in Africa. The area it self is truly breathtaking as the beautiful valley surrounds you. If your looking for a more relaxed viewing for these animals try jumping on the Tram that takes you directly around the entire valley. 


San Diego Zoo Safari Park prides itself on educating the public about conversation and protecting these precious animals through talk with the animals. Every hour or so, a zoologist will come out with a different animal to talk to folks directly about them. This a great way to learn first hand about these extraordinary as you get a chance to see them up close.  


Those with small children can go visit the petting zoo where they have wondering goats and sheep that are waiting for attention. Another wonderful spot in the park is Lorikeet Landing where you can purchase nectar cups and feed hundreds of lorikeet birds that are flying about. Watch as these small green parrots land right on your arms to lap up the sweet nectar, it’s an experience like no other. You’ll need a good pair of walking shoes if you head up to see the condors located in the highest part of the valley. Then zip line down for an exciting thrill along the base of the park.  


Take a stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens that display unique flowers and interesting plants. Towards the center to of the park you’ll find the gorillas that live in a grand opening that looks like a scene straight out of Africa. Get a kick out of the lemurs that jump from rope to rope, feed the ducks and swans near the waters edge. 


For a roaring good time, check out the lions den down by the Safari camp. These lions get a chance to really live in their natural surrounding, they still love to lounge around all day. Near by there’s an exciting play area for kids who can get their feet or run about in the grassy knolls. Set your sights high for a giant balloon ride that holds a large group for top views for the park. 

The park offers plenty of drinks; beer is served in certain areas for the adults while kids can get a slushy to cool them down. Small restaurants cook up tasty food for those who want to sit down and relax, along with yummy snacks for those who are still on the move. You’ll find an array of gift shops that can be found in each area you enter providing many local art creations that signify San Diego. 



At San Diego Zoo Safari Park you’ll discover that all of the animals live in harmony with plenty of room to roam. It’s great fun all day long, for those you want to continue the adventure then signup for Roar and Snore program. It’s where guests can sleep overnight in large campsites right in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.  Wow!

Adventures Of Sea World In San Diego

Dolphin Show at Sea World San Diego, CA

Sea World in San Diego, CA is truly a unique aquatic theme park with an abundance of sea life, terrific performers with a vast selection of snacks and goodies. We go there about five times a year, my family all have their membership passes so it's easy for us to jump in the car for the day. It's a great place to spend the day with the entire family; children love to touch the stingrays and to pick up starfish.

There have been many changes over the years; it seems to change a little more with every visit. Keeping attractions fresh and new is just what Sea World likes to do. Our favorite part is all the different shows, if you plan to go for just one day plan out the times you'll be able to see each show.

Here is a list of shows:

Sea Lions Live - A humorous show starring Clyde and Seamore, the two entertain the audience with a variety of comedy skits. 

Pets Rule - A dashing display of acrobatics performed by domestic animals, Sea World has rescued most of these animals.

Blue Horizon - Showcases dolphins with high flying skills along with cirque performers to enhance the story line. 

Sea Lions Tonight - Once again Clyde and Seamore are there to entertain you while performers make you laugh.

The Shamu Story - This one of a kind show is all about killer whales, Shamu takes you on a journey into his world.

Into The Blue - Fireworks display, it's only available during summer hours.

Cirque de la Mer - An interesting show seated right in the bay, aquatic performers dazzle the crowd with many acrobatic moves and flare.

Shamu Rocks - Nighttime show features the beloved Shamu, he too likes to rock out with dancers and blasts of thumping music.

One Ocean - A killer whale show featuring Shamu and his family, flips and tricks are sure to get you off your seat!

Madagascar Live! Operation: Vacation - Located in the theater hall, this show is totally live, entertaining by the much-loved crew from the movie Madagascar.

Don't forget to stock up on your favorite drink and some freshly popped popcorn!!

Sea World Aquarium

Sea World is more than shows; it's a place to discover sea life, how the animals live and their natural habitats. Beautiful aquariums can be found throughout the park showcasing the most erotic fish in the world. Be sure to visit Shark Encounters, go deep into the cove and step onto a traveling conveyer belt as you move underneath the coolest aquarium ever. All the sharks can be seen up close as they swim right overhead.

Those who seek water adventures should head over to Shipwreck Rapids for a drenching good time. Take a roller coaster dive and discover Journey to Atlantis. The ultimate thrill ride has to be Manta; with its smooth gliding rails this ride will take you on a whirlwind. Continue the rush with virtual helicopter ride through the Wild Arctic and learn about the animals from inhabitable Antarctica. Discover all the wonderful things at Sea World right here in San Diego.

Sea World is defiantly a hot spot for tourist alike and makes a great day trip for families.
